Introduction
I.The M.A. Rangoonwala College of Dental Sciences & Research Centre, Pune has been established by the Maharashtra Cosmopolitan Education Society, Pune because of generous donations from a well known philanthropist, The Late Janab M.A. Rangoonwala through Rangoonwala Foundation, London (U.K.) His wife Mrs.
Banobai Rangoonwala and son Asif Rangoonwala continued the financial support for the construction of the entire college building required for the course. This college started functioning from the academic year 2001-2002 with an intake capacity of 100 students. The College is approved by the Dental Council of India, New Delhi,permitted by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (Dept. of Health) Government of India & also by the Dept. of Medical Education, Govt.of Maharashtra. The College is affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.

II.About MCE Society
The Maharashtra Cosmopolitan Education (M.C.E.) Society, Pune is established in 1948. It is an educational society registered under the Society's Registration Act of 1860 and also a Public Trust registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950. It is also registered under section 12(a) of Income Tax Act 1961 and is exempted u/s 80G of the said Act by the Income Tax Commissioner, Pune....
The Maharashtra Cosmopolitan Education Society which runs M. A. Rangoonwala College of Dental Sciences & Research Centre, Pune, is both a religious & linguistic minority educational institution under the meaning of Article 30(1) of the Constitution of India. The M.C.E. Society is one of the oldest educational organizations of Pune & has done pioneering work in the field of education for the socially & economically backward sections of the society.
In pursuance with the aims & objectives the society has set up 21 educational institutions right from Pre-primary to Graduate & Post Graduate levels in the field of Arts, Science, Commerce, Computer Science, Law, Education, Pharmacy, Management Sciences, Architecture, Engineering & Dental Sciences.
The Society has made tremendous progress in the field of academics, sports, and extra curricular activities in each and every institution and tried to achieve not quantitative but qualitative excellence and inculcate a competitive spirit amongst the students. The infrastructure with beautiful buildings, well laid internal roads, picturesque landscape, well equipped laboratories, libraries with computers, furnished hostels for both boys and girls, leaves a tremendous impact on anyone who visits the Azam Campus.
The V.M.Gany Sports Complex and Pavilion is constructed in accordance with National standards and is a well-known play arena. Our students have taken maximum advantage of these facilities and have shown results by participating in the State and National level competitions and bringing laurels to their respective colleges & institutions. The moral and value education enhances the personality of our students and develops self-confidence, self respect and a positive attitude towards life.
M. A. Rangoonwala Talent Search & Promotion Scheme, funded by the Rangoonwala Foundation, London, is an unique scheme. Under this scheme meritorious students of 11th & 12th standard from Science stream are picked up and given extensive and rigorous coaching for 2 years, so that they can excel in C.E.T. examination for getting entry into Medical courses on merit.
